Charity Snyder - Principal, Educator

csnyder2I am so excited about joining the Kingdom Heights team. From the moment I placed my feet on the door mat of the school I knew there was something extra special about this school. I have been dreaming of running my very own little “old fashion school house” and Kingdom Heights is that dream come true.  God truly does grant you the desires of your heart.

I am a graduate of Southwest Texas State University, and have been teaching for more than 12 years.  Before joining the Kingdom Heights staff I was employed in Round Rock ISD where I had the opportunity to learn and grow in many abilities.

I am married to my wonderful and very supportive husband, James. We celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary on July 2nd, and began our own independent insurance agency in October of 2010.  We are the very proud parents of our one and only son, Will - who is 2 years old, and our four-legged chocolate lab, Grace.

When I'm not "love'n" on kids and parents I like to scrapbook, stamp, sew, paint, watch movies, work outside gardening, shop, and last but not least go to church where I am feed and enjoy the fellowship of other believers.

I am a child of the King, and I want to thank you for giving me the privilege of doing what I love - TEACHING others about JESUS! He is the best thing that ever happened to me!

Misty Harris was educated in the Georgetown public schools, and attended First Church of the Nazarenes. Currently she is pursuing her Preschool Associates/Child Development credential through the Association of Christian School, International. In addition, Ms. Harris is beginning her course work that will lead to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood education. She appreciates gaining knowledge and being equipped to enhance her performance in leading children. She finds balancing time between teaching, son, and school difficult.

Ms. Harris has spent approximately thirteen years working and leading in the field of early childhood. It has been a great experience for her and she enjoys the interaction with children. Her goal is to take over as director of the center that she is in presently. She intends on leading children in academics and to Christ.

She does not have a lot of spare time, but she spends what time she does have with her 16-year-old son and reading articles on early childhood. She loves movies and owns over 600 DVDs. She does not do much traveling, but enjoys driving from Texas to Iowa to visit family she has there. Her son, Blane, has dyslexia and enjoys sports. He is amazingly smart and enjoys learning animal science and history.

She is obtaining this degree to help educate children. She has chosen Liberty University because of the Christian basis of their program. Obtaining this degree will provide Ms. Harris with the credentials that are preferred by parents when looking for a highly qualified teacher.

Kristina Shaw - Educator

kkopelowI was born in Tyler, Texas but have lived in the Austin / Round Rock area for over 15 years. I attended Tyler Junior College and am presently pursuing an degree in Early Elementary education as well as my CDA.

Having taught in Children's Ministry for 5 years, I am passionate about investing in the lives of children. I want to develop the children's personalities and faith in Jesus Christ as well as teach them the "book skills" that they will need for life.

I love teaching at Kingdom Heights Christian School and partnering with the parents of my kiddos to develop each individual child together.
